A stabbing attack near a Catholic primary school in the U.K. prompted the response of counter-terror police.
According to the BBC, police responded to a stabbing attack outside the Rosary Catholic Primary School in Birmingham.
The suspect allegedly stabbed a male in the street and injured a woman before barricading himself inside a nearby building.
The suspect, a 32-year-old male, was arrested and taken into custody, but authorities have yet to release his identity.

Armed counter-terror police have arrested a suspect after a man was stabbed near a primary school in Birmingham.
Witnesses described seeing a knifeman attack another man in the street in the Alum Rock area at around 12.05pm on Tuesday.
A passer-by said he drove his van at the knifeman in an attempt to stop the stabbing opposite the Rosary Catholic Primary School.
The suspect then ran inside a block of flats and barricaded himself inside. A woman was seen screaming with bloodied hands from an upstairs window, shouting that the man was outside her door.
Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom, Rupert Lowe, responded to the stabbing incident on X and stated, “Another day, another stabbing. We need to GET REAL – I am sick of it, we are all sick of it. This is not the Britain I want to live in. ”
He added, “The British state needs to brutally crack down on knife crime, and I mean brutally… Instant deportation for foreign nationals found carrying.”

The attack comes days after the United States and Israel launched joint attacks on Iran.
Currently, U.K. investigators have yet to determine whether the suspect has any terrorist connections.
