Forget 5-star hotels – how about among the stars?
As space exploration takes on a new impulse in the second year of Donald J. Trump’s second presidential term, we begin to see a multitude of projects designed to facilitate the rise of humans as a multi-planetary species.
A mere day after NASA and the Department of Energy united to build and deploy a nuclear power plant to generate energy for a future permanent lunar base, now we have an even more surprising turn of events.
A US startup called Galactic Resource Utilization (GRU) Space is planning to build ‘a resort on the Moon’ that would be ready to receive guests in just six years.
Daily News reported:
“It is currently asking hopeful space tourists to pay a £750,000 ($1million) deposit to secure a five-night stay, which may end up costing more than £7.5million ($10million) in total.
GRU Space founder Skyler Chan, 22, a recent graduate from Berkeley in California, believes the hotel will allow humans to colonize the Moon, and eventually Mars.”
