Rep. Delia Ramirez lost it over Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem “smiling” during her wild anti-ICE rant during Thursday’s House Committee on Homeland Security hearing.
The confrontation began when Ramirez played a video clip of Noem testifying that no American citizens had been arrested or detained by ICE, claiming that she was lying about this information.
“Secretary Noem, you lie and you lie to the American people. I will be including into the record an article by ProPublica from October 16th, 2025, entitled ‘We found that more than 170 U.S. Citizens have been held by immigration agents. They’ve been kicked…’” Ramirez began.
The unhinged Democrat paused her reading to snap at Noem in terrible English, “There’s nothing smiling about.”
Noem attempted to respond, but the congresswoman held up her hand to silence her and said, “I’m sorry, that’s very inappropriate, let me continue.”
Ramirez claimed that Noem “engaged in unethical behavior” and “repeatedly made false and misleading statements to Congress and to the press.”
Ramirez concluded her remarks by demanding Noem’s resignation, noting that she had previously hand-delivered a resignation request in May and was pushing for impeachment proceedings.
“Either you’re going to resign, Trump’s going to fire you, or you will be impeached.” Ramirez said.
She added, “I’ve already called for your resignation. You may remember I hand-delivered my request to you back in May, and I urge you to reconsider resignation because I’ve taken the first step towards your impeachment.”
