Democrat Rep Henry Cuellar was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to discuss his pardon by President Trump.
The Democrat Congressman was critical of the open border under Joe Biden and was targeted by the Biden DOJ as a result of his outspoken comments. Cuellar and his wife were charged with bribery and money laundering in 2024.
President Trump’s pardon was a result of the extreme corruption of the Department of Justice under the Biden regime.
Trump was disappointed that Rep Cuellar decided to run again after the pardon. That seat could have been up for grabs for the GOP to increase their majority in the US House. He took to Truth Social to express his frustration.
“Only a short time after signing the Pardon, Congressman Henry Cuellar announced that he will be “running” for Congress again, in the Great State of Texas (a State where I received the highest number of votes ever recorded!), as a Democrat, continuing to work with the same Radical Left Scum that just weeks before wanted him and his wife to spend the rest of their lives in Prison – And probably still do! Such a lack of LOYALTY, something that Texas Voters, and Henry’s daughters, will not like. Oh’ well, next time, no more Mr. Nice guy!” Trump said on Truth Social.
“Do you believe that you were indicted because of your criticism of Biden’s open border?” Bartiromo asked.
“I feel that I was weaponized. You know, they used the department to go after myself and my family,” Cuellar said.
“Let’s hit on what they accused you of. The Justice Department under Joe Biden said that you were acting as a foreign agent to advance the interests of the Azerbaijani government,” Bartiromo said.
“Federal authorities indicted you and your wife in May of 2024 on 14 counts including bribery, conspiracy and money laundering,” Bartiromo said.
“Let me say this you know, first of all. We’re innocent,” Cuellar said.
“We weren’t even allowed to see the grand jury testimony. That doesn’t happen very frequently,” Cuellar continued.

Cuellar and his wife were facing a maximum of 204 years in prison after Biden’s DOJ indicted them on federal bribery and money laundering charges last year.
Biden’s DOJ charged Cuellar, a nine-term Democrat Texas lawmaker who represents an area along the US-Mexico border, after he lashed out at both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for allowing illegal aliens to pour over the border.
