BREAKING: Georgia Prosecutor Drops Fani Willis’ Lawfare RICO Case Against Trump

November 26, 2025

The new Georgia prosecutor who was chosen to replace Fani Willis in her lawfare RICO case against President Trump has dropped the case.

In August 2023, Fani Willis indicted President Trump and 18 co-defendants for daring to challenge the 2020 election.

Willis hit President Trump and the co-defendants with RICO and other charges.

Nathan Wade was paid more than $600,000 as special prosecutor while he was wining and dining Fani Willis and paying for lavish vacations for them.

Last year, after a fierce court battle, Fani Willis and her entire office were disqualified from prosecuting Trump in their lawfare RICO case.

The appeals court did not throw out the charges; however, Fani Willis and her office have “no authority to proceed.”

The Georgia Appeals Court disqualified Fani Willis because of an appearance of impropriety.

Fani Willis had an illicit affair with Nathan Wade, the top prosecutor she hired to hunt down Trump in her RICO and conspiracy case against the former president.

Last month Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee gave prosecuting attorneys 14 days to assign a new prosecutor to Fani Willis’ lawfare RICO case or he will dismiss the case without prejudice.

Just hours before the deadline to appoint a new prosecutor, the Executive Director of Georgia’s Prosecuting Attorney’s Council entered an appearance as “District Attorney pro tempore.”

Pete Skandalakis, Executive Director of Georgia’s Prosecuting Attorney’s Council has entered his appearance as “District Attorney pro tempore”

On Wednesday, Pete Skandalakis dropped the case.

Skandalakis said the state of Georgia is not the appropriate venue for this case.

“The criminal conduct alleged in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit’s prosecution was conceived in Washington, D.C., not the State of Georgia. The federal government is the appropriate venue for this prosecution, not the State of Georgia,” the prosecutor wrote.

“Indeed, if Special Counsel Jack Smith, with all the resources of the federal government at his disposal, after reviewing the evidence in this case and considering the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. United States, along with the years of litigation such a case would inevitably entail, concluded that prosecution would be fruitless, then I too find that, despite the available evidence, pursuing the prosecution of all those involved in State of Georgia v. Donald Trump, et al. on essentially federal grounds would be equally unproductive,” the prosecutor wrote in a 22-page memo.
