Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has once again demonstrated why it remains one of the most vital law enforcement agencies in America.
Since mid-September, ICE officers have arrested 223 illegal aliens along Northwest Indiana highways as part of Operation Midway Blitz, a campaign aimed at removing unlicensed, undocumented drivers from public roads and restoring safety to interstate travel.
For years, sanctuary states like Illinois, California, and New York have undermined immigration enforcement, allowing individuals with no legal right to be in the country to obtain commercial driver’s licenses and operate heavy vehicles on public roads.

Among the 223 arrests, 46 were illegal alien truck drivers, many with CDLs issued under lax state regulations.
Ten of them held special license types that have been flagged for abuse nationwide.
Several of those arrested had criminal histories ranging from drug trafficking and theft to domestic battery and child abuse.
In total, at least 12 individuals detained during the operation were repeat offenders. These are not harmless workers “seeking a better life.” They are individuals whose presence and behavior endanger public safety.
President Trump’s administration has taken strong steps to support ICE and restore the rule of law that the previous administration allowed to erode.
Efforts like Operation Midway Blitz reflect a clear philosophy: every law matters, and every illegal alien who violates those laws must face the consequences.
When immigration enforcement is consistent, American roads, communities, and workplaces all become safer.
