Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project and former law clerk to Justice Neil Gorsuch, announced that a grand jury will be impaneled in January 2026 to potentially investigate the origins of Crossfire Hurricane and Biden’s weaponized lawfare against President Donald Trump.
Last month, Davis broke the news on X:

The order has a start date of January 12, 2026. While the filing does not explicitly list its investigative scope, Davis has repeatedly pushed for criminal accountability tied to FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane operation, the 2016 counterintelligence probe that falsely accused Trump’s campaign of colluding with Russia.
Davis also emphasized that this is the same jurisdiction where the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago occurred.
“We need a special grand jury in Fort Pierce,” Davis wrote on X. “That’s ground zero for the Mar-a-Lago raid. It’s time to drag every name into the light. Every last one will face justice.”
In his interview with Benny Johnson, Davis, who is also a former Chief Counsel for Nominations to Senator Chuck Grassley, praised Grassley’s recent findings showing how the Biden DOJ used the 2020 election challenge as a pretext to open criminal investigations into Trump, his aides, and even U.S. Senators.
He argued this renewed outrage could finally “light a fire under people’s asses” to pursue long-overdue accountability.
Davis also argued that the new grand jury, which will be impaneled in January 2026, could finally bring long-awaited accountability for the architects of the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation.

“You have a memo from former FBI Director Chris Wray to Attorney General Merrick Garland — Biden’s Attorney General — through Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, where they used the 2020 presidential election challenge, which is totally permitted by the Electoral Count Act of 1887 and the First Amendment. They used that as a predicate, as a pretext, to open a criminal investigation on President Trump, his top aides, and his allies.They were stupid enough, in the Biden Justice Department, to actually do it on U.S. senators. I always say presidents and their teams come and go, but senators last decades.
The Biden Justice Department was dumb enough to spy on nine U.S. senators. And now, U.S. senators who have not shown much interest in any of this “lawfare” over the last eight years are suddenly keenly interested — and very outraged — by this.
You have senators who are generally pretty milquetoast, but they’re pretty fired up right now. They are calling for investigations and calling for indictments.
This is maybe the spark that we needed, Ben — to light a fire under people’s asses and get these investigations going.
I’ll also point out that my good friend Jason Reding Quiñones just got confirmed as the U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, in Miami.
I’ve been calling for a criminal probe for the last three-plus years, since the Mar-a-Lago raid — for a grand jury to investigate a conspiracy against rights under 18 U.S.C. § 241 — for these lawfare Democrats, and how they’ve politicized and weaponized intel agencies and law enforcement, going back eight years to Crossfire Hurricane, to take out Trump and his top aides like Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, and Jeff Clark — and his supporters on January 6th.
I’ve been very publicly calling for that on your show and in 5,000 other media hits for the last three years. There’s now a special grand jury that Jason just motioned the court in the Southern District of Florida to open in Fort Pierce. That’s going to be empaneled in January.
I think that sounds like a great move — to open up this grand jury on Crossfire Hurricane and against these lawfare Democrats. Maybe, just maybe, that’s going to happen — as I’ve been talking about for three years.
I’ll say this — I’ve been publicly calling for this for three years, and I’m going to make damn sure that these lawfare Democrats go to prison during the four years of President Trump’s second term.
Because these are Republic-ending tactics by these lawfare Democrats. They took our country to the brink. They tried to bankrupt Trump for non-fraud. They tried to throw him in prison four times for non-crimes.
They tried to take him off the ballot in Colorado, in Maine, and elsewhere — unconstitutionally. They even tried to take off his head when Joe Biden underfunded Trump’s Secret Service protection — saying he was the “biggest threat to democracy” and putting a bullseye on Trump.
As I’ve promised — and as I will deliver — justice is definitely coming. So lawyer up, motherf***ers, because justice is definitely coming.”
