KETAMINE QUEEN PLEADS GUILTY: Woman Charged With Selling Drug to ‘Friends’ Star Matthew Perry Strikes Deal With Prosecutors

Perry’s overdose death led to a string of prosecutions that ended in guilty pleas.

The last defendant in the Matthew Perry overdose death prosecutions has pleaded guilty.

A California woman known in the press as the ‘Ketamine Queen’, charged with several counts of dealing ketamine to Matthew Perry – including the fatal doses that killed him – agreed to plead guilty today (19).

Associated Press reported:

“Jasveen Sangha becomes the fifth and final defendant charged in the overdose death of the “Friends” star to strike a plea agreement with federal prosecutors. Having initially pleaded not guilty, her change of plea means she’ll avoid a trial that had been planned for August.

Sangha agreed to plead guilty to one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of distribution of ketamine, and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury.”

The DOJ used the name ‘Ketamine Queen’ in press releases, judicial filings and even in the name of the case against Sangha.

After initially pleading ‘not guilty’, she finally cut a deal with the prosecution.

“Sangha will officially change her plea to guilty at an upcoming hearing, where sentencing will be scheduled, prosecutors said. She could get up to 45 years in prisonaa

She and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who signed his own plea deal June 16, had been the primary targets of the investigation. Three other defendants — Dr. Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa and Erik Fleming — agreed to plead guilty last year in exchange for their cooperation, which included statements implicating Sangha and Plasencia.”

Jennifer Connely conforts a depressive Perry during a ‘Friends’ anniversary interview.

Perry started using the drug to treat depression, but soon he became hooked on it, buying large quantities from Plasencia and eventually from Sangha.

“With the two men acting as middlemen, Perry bought large amounts of ketamine from Sangha, including 25 vials for $6,000 in cash four days before his death. That purchase included the doses that killed Perry, prosecutors said.”
