War Room’s Steve Bannon and former Trump Campaign Advisor Steve Cortes discussed the idea of redistricting Red States to benefit the Republican party and help them pick up more seats in the House.
The video opens with clips of shows with various commentaries from left-wing media outlets MSNBC and CNN. They oppose the idea, claiming that it is part of a plan to rig the midterm elections.
“You think it’s feasible for us to redistrict five seats down in Texas, sir?” Bannon asked.
“Oh yes. Listen, let’s roll. Let’s light that candle. We need to do this. By the way, it makes perfect sense even beyond the wonderful political benefits that we will reap here. When you look at the country in 2020, it is clear that the census was not taken correctly during the Covid panic,” Cortes said.
“In addition, we had such massive movements because of the Covid panic. Such shifts between states and even within states, that it is necessary for us to do this. So yes, every Red State should do this,” Cortes said.
Cortes also explained that having another national census sooner would be beneficial, instead of waiting the full 10-year span since Covid and counting illegals gave inaccurate information. He said that although a census is required every 10 years, the Constitution does not prohibit any additional ones.
“I think there should be another national census. You know the Constitution does not preclude that. It says you have to have a census at least every ten years,” Cortes said.
“2020 wasn’t done right because of the Covid panic, and it also wasn’t done right because we counted illegals,” Cortes continued.
Bannon and Cortes also discussed the very strange Chicago building that will soon be the Presidential Library for Barack Obama.
“What is he building? That thing, it looks like the Reichstag, you know. It’s insane. What is that?” Bannon asked.
“I’m laughing, because it’s ridiculous, ok. But it’s also sad,” Cortes said.
“By the way, that’s almost done. So, please don’t think that ‘oh, that’s still under construction, looks nothing like the final product.’ No, if you look at the drawings, that’s finally getting close to done,” Cortes said.
Cortes explained that the building was not only designed in poor taste but is also way over budget. The cost is already approaching one billion dollars.
“Five years late, three times the initial budget. It was 300 million out of the gate. It’s almost a billion, with a b, almost a billion dollars now,” Cortes continued.
