President Trump’s US Chief of Protocol, Monica Crowley, recently sat down with The New York Post’s Miranda Devine. One of the topics they discussed was the President’s view of the 2020 election and how he has come to see it as “providential” because America’s 250th birthday will now fall during his second term.
During the Post’s exclusive interview, Crowley shared, “Now [Trump] says, ‘You know what? 2020 had to happen that way. It was providential.’”
“It was because now he’s back, and he will preside over these incredible events,” which also include the FISA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics.

Trump has described the 250th anniversary as “the biggest and most important milestone in our country’s history” and called for “the most spectacular birthday party” for the nation. He has proposed a yearlong celebration beginning on Memorial Day 2025 and continuing through July 4, 2026, to honor the 250th anniversary of American independence.
On January 29, 2025, Trump signed an executive order establishing the White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday, also referred to as “Salute to America 250.”
He chairs the task force, with the Vice President as vice chair, and it includes senior administration officials like the Secretaries of State, Defense, and Education. The task force is tasked with coordinating with federal, state, and local governments, as well as private and nonprofit sectors, to plan an “extraordinary celebration.”
“It is the policy of the United States, and a purpose of this order, to provide a grand celebration worthy of the momentous occasion of the 250th anniversary of American Independence on July 4, 2026. It is also the purpose of this order to take other actions to honor the history of our great Nation.”
President Trump has shared his faith many times, including following the attempt on his life last summer. Following the election, he shared, “Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason.”
