The ultra-liberal and Euro-fanatic Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk – like most European leaders – has a big immigration problem in his hands.
Today, Tusk announced that Poland will introduce temporary controls on its borders with Germany and Lithuania starting on July 7.
This decision comes as criticism of his lax border protection actions is mounting, and ‘citizen patrols’ are starting to form in the border with Germany to prevent the migrant ‘invasion’.
Politico reported:
“Tusk warned Monday that his country would reimpose checks on the Polish-German border if it found that Germany was sending irregular migrants to Poland, Lithuanian media reported. He also said his country would take measures to prevent illegal border crossings from the Lithuanian side, as Poland had ‘a lot of effort, money, sweat and, unfortunately, some blood, to make the eastern border with Belarus airtight’.”

“The Polish checks would by no means be an exception in the European free travel area: As of July 1, 11 of the Schengen area’s 29 countries — including Austria, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands — had notified the European Commission of plans to reintroduce border controls, according to the executive’s record.”
In the meantime, the Polish government is criticizing the ‘citizen patrols’ gathering on the German border to keep migrants who have illegally entered Germany from Poland from returning.

“[The Government] accuses the groups, which have received backing from right-wing opposition politicians, of disrupting the work of border officers and of spreading misinformation about Poland being ‘flooded’ with migrants.”
Germany is reportedly returning to Poland thousands of migrants that crossed the border illegally.
“Many of those sent back are Ukrainians. Others are non-Europeans, often from Asia and Africa, who have either claimed asylum in Poland – and therefore must remain there while their applications are processed – or have simply passed through it after entering the EU irregularly.”
Police have arrived at the Polish German border, not to detain migrants, but rather, pepper spray volunteer Patriots defending our border.

However, opposition parties – the national-conservative Law and Justice (PiS) and far-right Confederation (Konfederacja) – accuse the government of failing to stand up to Germany. They have expressed support for the citizen patrols – some of them hundreds strong – that have gathered on the border.”
Tusk insists it’s ‘not true’ that ‘Poland is being flooded with illegal immigrants from the west’.
“The ‘citizen patrols’ have generally gathered at the border to observe what is happening and express opposition to migrant returns. But there have been some cases of ‘citizen arrests’ of alleged irregular migrants as well as attempts to block crossings and at least one clash with police.”
