On Sunday, five explosive devices were discovered in Fort Washington Park in Maryland.

The Prince George’s County Fire Department Bomb Squad was called to the scene to neutralize the devices after receiving a call of two suspicious packages in the woods.

Less than 24 hours later, additional explosive devices were discovered at the park, and the PGFD Bomb Squad is working to secure the devices.

In a press release, the Prince George’s County Fire Department stated, “5 devices were rendered safe before operations were suspended after sunset. This morning, additional explosive devices were located.”

“The Bomb Squad is on scene working to render the devices safe,” added the PG County Fire Department.

Per ABC 7 News:

More explosive devices were found at a Prince George’s County, Maryland, park roughly a day after crews found five other similar devices.

Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department crews returned to Fort Washington Park after finding several more suspected pipe bombs in a remote section of the park. Officials did not provide an exact number.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) said the devices will be taken to its laboratory in the Beltsville, Md., area.

On Sunday, US Park Police officers found five suspected pipe bomb devices, which were all “rendered safe.”

Currently, the National Park Service’s website lists Fort Washington Park as closed until further notice.

The ATF noted that the devices were not recently placed in the park’s woods.

The devices will now be sent to the ATF National Laboratory Center in Ammendale
