DEVELOPING: KC-135 Refueling Aircraft Goes Down in Iraq; Status of Six Crewmembers on Board Unknown

The US Central Command on Thursday confirmed a KC-135 refueling aircraft went down in western Iraq.

The status of the six crewmembers on board is unknown.

CENTCOM said this was not due to friendly fire or hostile fire.

A second refueler landed safely in Israel.

Via US Central Command:

U.S. Central Command is aware of the loss of a U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft.

The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and rescue efforts are ongoing. Two aircraft were involved in the incident.

One of the aircraft went down in western Iraq, and the second landed safely.

This was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire.

More information will be made available as the situation develops.

Seven US service members have been killed in Operation Epic Fury.

On Saturday, President Trump attended the dignified transfer of six of the fallen heroes.
