President Trump unloaded on the Democrats over their government shutdown and their refusal to pass the SAVE America Act to mandate voter ID and proof of citizenship to vote while speaking to reporters on Air Force One on Monday.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the government entered a partial shutdown on Friday after Senate Democrats refused to vote to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Without DHS funding, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can still function largely uninterrupted. Still, other agencies, including the Coast Guard and Transportation Security Administration (TSA), will face disruption.
Last week, the US House of Representatives also passed the SAVE Act, sending it to the Senate to be considered before Trump can sign it into law. However, the legislation faces an uphill battle in the Senate, as not every GOP Senator is fully on board, and the entire Democratic Party opposes free and fair elections. The Senate must invoke a standing filibuster to pass the bill with only 51 votes, instead of the 3/5ths required under the “Zombie Filibuster.”
Trump has signaled that he will sign an executive order to require voter ID.
On Monday, Trump confirmed to reporters that he still plans to deliver his State of the Union address next week amid the ongoing shutdown, and when asked about ongoing negotiations to reopen the government, he went off on Democrats for cheating in elections.
“This has nothing to do with Republicans,” Trump said of the shutdown. “This is a Democrat shutdown. They’re upset that the crime numbers are so good, they’re very unhappy that the crime numbers are so good, they’re very unhappy that there’s a movement for getting voter ID.”
Trump then highlighted the overwhelming support for voter ID among American voters, slamming the Democrats for attempting to rig another election.
“Think of it. Who wouldn’t want proof of citizenship? I ask you, Steve, who wouldn’t want voter ID? And why would you want mail-in ballots if you know it’s corrupt? It’s a corrupt system,” he said.
“If you had voter ID, if you had proof of citizenship, they could never win an election. And they know that, and they’re fighting to the hill.”
Trump then compared the lunacy to the Democrats’ radical open border policies, transgender for everyone, and men playing in women’s sports.

Reporter: How are the negotiations going with the government shutdown?
Trump: This has nothing to do with Republicans. This is a Democrat shutdown. They’re upset that the crime numbers are so good, they’re very unhappy that the crime numbers are so good, they’re very unhappy that there’s a movement for getting voter ID. They want voter ID. The population, 98% want voter ID. They don’t want voter ID because they want to cheat in elections.
They also want other things. They don’t want mail-in ballots. They want to end mail-in ballots, which is corrupt. And one other thing that they’re insisting on is proof of citizenship. And the Democrats don’t want to give proof of citizenship, they don’t want to give voter ID. Think of it. Who wouldn’t want proof of citizenship? I ask you, Steve, who wouldn’t want voter ID? And why would you want mail-in ballots if you know it’s corrupt? It’s a corrupt system.
We’re the only country in the world that has this system of mail-in ballots. Think of it, the only country in the world that has this system of mail-in ballots because they cheat. And the fact is, they could never get elected if they ever changed, and they know it. If you had voter ID, if you had proof of citizenship, they could never win an election. And they know that, and they’re fighting to the hill. And I put this down with men playing in women’s sports, I put it down with transgender for everybody. I put it down with their horrible open border policy as being ridiculous. They don’t want voter ID, no voter ID, and I put that down in the same category with men playing in women’s sports. I’m going to add a fourth category: They don’t want voter ID.
This comes as even more proof of election fraud surfaces from the ballot harvesting, ballot curing, a lack of voter ID laws, and mass mail-in ballots in California.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, YouTuber Nick Shirley exposed the fraud within California’s rigged system on Monday with a video exposé, in which he spoke to election officials and locals and visited the addresses listed for fraudulent voter registrations.
