The western hemisphere continues to reel over Donald J. Trump’s territorial ambitions.
Yesterday, reports arose saying Trump’s officials had secretly contacted a separatist group in the key oil-producing Canadian region of Alberta.
There is a strong movement in the province for secession from the country due to the woke energy policies and the redistribution of oil revenues in favor of other regions.
As we would expect, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney was greatly incensed by that.
Carney and the Alberta provincial premier said that the US ‘should respect Canadian sovereignty’.
BBC reported:
“Carney said they ‘expect the US administration to respect Canadian sovereignty – I’m always clear with President Trump to that effect’.
Similarly, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said she expected US officials to leave discussions about the province’s ‘democratic process’ to Albertans and Canadians.”

Alberta separatists are in the process of collecting signatures for a petition leading to a referendum on leaving Canada.
“British Columbia Premier David Eby said that ‘to go to a country and ask for assistance in breaking up Canada – there’s an old-fashioned word for that, and that word is ‘treason’’.”

Jeffrey Rath, co-founder of the Alberta Prosperity Project, said that his group has travelled to Washington on three occasions in the last year.
He described the trips as ‘private citizens on a fact-finding basis’.
“Their meetings with senior officials were conducted as ‘a feasibility study’ on a possible $500bn (£362bn) line of credit should the province separate, he said, adding that his group was not soliciting funding.”
