President Trump has led tributes to the cartoonist and political commentator Scott Adams, who has passed away at 68.

His death was announced by his ex-wife during a livestream on Tuesday, after reports that he had entered hospice care and did not have long left following a prolonged battle with prostate cancer.

He converted to Christianity shortly before his death.

As well as a famed cartoonist who created Dilbert, Adams became an intellectual thought leader in the MAGA movement back in 2015 after he spoke publicly about how Trump was a “master of persuasion.”

Posting on Truth Social, Trump said that Adams would be “truly missed.”

“Sadly, the Great Influencer, Scott Adams, has passed away,” Trump wrote.

“He was a fantastic guy, who liked and respected me when it wasn’t fashionable to do so.”

”He bravely fought a long battle against a terrible disease,” he continued. “My condolences go out to his family, and all of his many friends and listeners.

“He will be truly missed. God bless you Scott!”

J.D. Vance also weighed in, describing him as a “true American original” and “great ally” of the White House.

Scott Adams was a true American original, and a great ally to the President of the United States and the entire administration. My prayers go to Scott and all of you who loved him.

We lost one of the good ones but we’ll never forget him.

Meanwhile, tributes have poured in across the X platform.

Scott Adams was one of the wisest, kindest, most decent humans beings I’ve had the honor of coming across in all my years of doing this show.

I will miss you, friend… pic.twitter.com/Pz5YnVJWV3

He spent his final few months knowing where he stood and how much he was loved. He served humanity and was held up until his final moment. May we all live this way and be so blessed. https://t.co/4c5be1WFRw

The world lost a great man today.

I remember seeing Dilbert comic strips as a kid growing up in Saudi Arabia. Little did I know that decades later, I’d get the chance to hang out with its creator and interview him several times.

Rest in glorious peace, @ScottAdamsSays – you changed more lives and made the world infinitely better. God bless you and thank you for everything you did for me. We will always love you.

You will be discovering today that @ScottAdamsSays had more influence on you and on your world than you could possibly have known.

You might also discover that you influenced him, perhaps inadvertently, and didn’t know you had.

Ask @courrielche and @RedPilled_USA about that.

Even though I knew his death was coming, as he told us it would, I still can’t believe he has died.

Rest in peace, good and great man, rest in peace. https://t.co/IsTERL21PQ

Scott Adams was one of the most interesting, thoughtful, and unique thinkers in the country today. He was his own man, which is a rare thing. He also died well — something even rarer still. He faced his death with clarity, courage, and honesty. That was his final service to the…
