House Majority Whip Tom Emmer was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with guest host Jason Chaffetz to talk about Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro’s capture. Emmer praised the hard work of the special forces to capture Maduro and bring him to justice.
“I think the precision, the execution of this operation was just second to none,” Chaffetz said.
“We’ll never know the names of the people who did, who executed this, but they did so, and they made America proud,” Chaffetz continued.
“Democrats are gonna fight hard in trying to say ‘it was illegitimate, it was illegal, it was unconstitutional.’ What say you?” Chaffetz asked.
“First off, you’re right. Those special forces people. It’s called quiet professionalism, Jason. They just do their job. You don’t know who they are, but God bless them, and God bless this President of peace, Donald J Trump, for being willing to make the call,” Emmer said.
“Let’s be very clear. This was more of an extradition. This was a law enforcement proceeding to capture someone who has been indicted on some very serious charges of killing Americans, of having intent to commit crimes that most Americans may not be aware of, but they are going to now,” Emmer explained.
Congressman Emmer also reminded viewers that Maduro stole his country’s election and is not a legitimate ruler.
“It was the capture of someone who was an illegitimate ruler. He stole an election, so he wasn’t even supposed to be there,” Emmer said.
“This again, was an extradition. This was a law enforcement action entirely appropriate by the Trump administration,” Emmer continued.
Rep Emmer called out the Democrats for their criticism of President Trump’s actions to capture Maduro. He said instead that they should be supporting him for protecting Americans.
“Are they on the side of the American people? Do they care about the victims of the crimes that Maduro and his thugs have committed in this country?” Emmer said of the Democrats.
“We know that this thug, Maduro, this criminal, was literally working directly with our adversaries in China, in Iran, in Russia,” Emmer said.
“This is a really important move by the Trump administration and our colleagues on the other side of the aisle for once they should stand with the American people, instead of just spewing their hatred for our President,” Emmer said of the Democrats.
