The ‘Epstein curse’ is starting to seriously affect Summers.
Liberal icon Larry Summers maintained a documented relationship with Jeffrey Epstein spanning over a decade, comprising professional collaborations, donations to Harvard and to Summers’ family projects, as well as social dinners and personal email exchanges.
Summers oversaw Epstein’s nearly $9 million in donations to Harvard, where the disgraced financier is granted an office (Room 610, dubbed ‘Jeffrey’s Office’).
Even after Epstein’s Florida conviction, Summers attends a party at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion in 2011.
When Harvard rejects further Epstein gifts – after his conviction – Summers keeps meeting Epstein over a dozen times, often for dinners.
Epstein even donates $110,000 to a poetry video project by Summers’ wife, Harvard professor Elisa New.
In JPMorgan Chase lawsuit documents (2022–2023), former executive Jes Staley testifies that Epstein referred Summers as potential bank client.

Now, Summers has issued a statement saying he would ‘step back from public commitments’.
Associated Press reported:
“The statement sent to The Harvard Crimson and other media on Monday said Summers would step back to “rebuild trust and repair relationships with the people closest to me.”
‘I am deeply ashamed of my actions and recognize the pain they have caused. I take full responsibility for my misguided decision to continue communicating with Mr. Epstein’, the statement said.”

Summers will reportedly continue to teach several economics courses at Harvard.
“When asked about the emails last week, Summers issued a statement saying he has ‘great regrets in my life’ and that his association with Epstein was a ‘major error in judgement’.”
ABC News reported:
“’While continuing to fulfill my teaching obligations, I will be stepping back from public commitments as one part of my broader effort to rebuild trust and repair relationships with the people closest to me’, he said.
[…] He flew at least four times on Epstein’s aircraft, according to flight records made public during litigation against Epstein, and he was the top official at Harvard during a time when the university received millions in gifts from Epstein.”
