During President Trump’s inauguration in January 2025, the internet was abuzz after a clip of the President’s youngest son, Barron, leaning into Joe Biden and quietly saying something to him went viral.
Lip readers claimed Barron said something harsh to the outgoing President. Biden himself looked confused and a bit taken aback, fueling the rumors more furiously.

It turns out Biden’s stricken look was simply his general demeanor of perpetual confusion, and Barron was, characteristically, kind to the dottering old man.
During an interview with Megyn Kelly, Barron’s brother Eric, 41, finally revealed the truth.
Eric shared that during an appearance on the ‘PBD Podcast,’ host Patrick Bet-David asked him what he thought his brother had said and wondered if Barron had used a profanity when speaking to the 46th president, as some of the “lip readers” had theorized.
Eric noted, “He’s probably thinking it, he definitely has it up here, but like he’s too courteous to actually go out there and say it.”
Eric told Kelly he had finally asked Barron directly.
“One night I call Barron and I go ‘Buddy, what did you actually say?’ And it was something so polite I almost wouldn’t even get it right.”
“But like, ‘Congratulations, and best of luck to you,’ or something like that. Something very respectable,” Eric shared.
