If you need any more proof that the leftist media is the enemy of the people, look no further.
The leftist media sank to its typical lows this week in defense of a man who left his child in the car to attack Customs and Border Protection agents, with MSNBC accusing law enforcement officers of “effectuat[ing] family separations” after federal agents arrested a man who left his child in the car to assault Border Patrol officials in Los Angeles.
The far-left Los Angeles Times reported on the incident Tuesday, writing that “two agents climbed into his car — along with their weapons” and “drove off with the child as onlookers protested.” They further quote onlookers and an immigration activist, who claims that CBP “put that toddler in extreme danger” by getting into the vehicle with masks and weapons. “It should shock everyone’s conscience that we have masked armed men behaving like that with a U.S. citizen father and a toddler who were just going to run an errand at Home Depot on a random Tuesday,” the activist said.
They published footage from the incident with protestors claiming that Quinonez “was doing absolutely nothing” and attempting to block the officers’ path. Via LA Times:
In a statement to the outlet, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said the Dennis Quinonez, a US citizen, “exited his vehicle wielding a hammer and threw rocks at law enforcement while he had a child in his car.”
Additionally, “He was arrested for assault and during his arrest a pistol was found in his car, that is reported stolen out of the state of New York” and “has an active warrant for property damage,” DHS says. He now faces additional charges for unlawful posession of a firearm and ammunition by a person previously convicted of domestic violence, the outlet notes.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin responded to the report on Thursday, telling the author “ffs [for f*cks sake], Brittny.”
“This U.S. citizen left his own child unattended in a car and proceeded to attack law enforcement as the were conducting an operation—he exited his car wielding a hammer and threw rocks at law enforcement as he abandoned his child. He was arrested for assault and during his arrest a pistol was found in his car, that is reported stolen out of the state of New York,” McLaughlin continued. “He has an individual has an active warrant for property damage. Law enforcement rightly looked over the child until they were in the safe custody of a guardian.”

In a recent appearance on MSNBC’s Deadline: White House, Senior Political Correspondent Jacob Soboroff glorified the man and read a statement from Quinonez’s mother, crying racism, attacking federal agents, and claiming that CBP misrteated the young girl:
“When I picked up my granddaughter from the federal agents, she had a dirty diaper, a bruise on her face, and was developing a rash. She was exhausted and cried. My heart aches knowing this could happen to others, to my kids, or even me, despite being US citizens. We’re now questioning our safety and feel more vulnerable simply for being Latino. I fear for my grandkids growing up in a country that targets Latinos and profiles dark skinned people. I hope things improve, though it’s hard to imagine how it could get worse.”
Soboroff used the statement to advance the old “Kids in Cages” narrative of family separation and claim that US citizens and their families are now being targeted, conveniently without mentioning key context about how the man abandoned his child to attack law enforcement. “You are watching those same types of agents, border patrol agents, basically effectuate family separations in the interior, in this case, a US citizen who is accused of a crime,” he said.

Soboroff: We have some new video, not just this angle, that adds additional context to this story, and I want to put it up on the screen right now. In a federal charging document, the Justice Department says that the Border Patrol approached Quinonez from over 100 feet or around 100 feet away, and you’re watching this video from the Los Angeles Rapid Response Network right now, that shows that exact thing happening. Quinonez— this is the Home Depot by the way around the corner from my house. He is in the far, far end of the Home Depot parking lot, about as far away, not only from the day laborer center where they were targeting and arrested five undocumented immigrants, but from the Home Depot itself.
And you watch them surround and box in Quinonez’s vehicle right here. Even if the allegations against Quinonez are true, that he had a gun in the vehicle and he threw what the border patrol says is a rock like object at the border patrol agents, it raises very serious questions about the Border Patrol’s ability to care for a young child like the daughter of Mr. Quinonez, and I want to read to you a statement that his mother, once he was released yesterday, issued to the public to better understand how his daughter was treated by the agents that you’re seeing on the screen right now. Let me read from it.

What this brings to mind for me Nicole is the time I spent in the McAllen Border Patrol processing center at the height of the family separation policy. Those Border Patrol agents said to me then that they were strained and stressed and struggling because they are not trained as social workers. They are not clinical professionals meant to take little children away from their moms and dads. Yet, that’s exactly what that policy did. Dana Sabraw stopped that policy after 5500 kids were taken away from their parents. Stephen Miller wanted it to be 25,000 using a process called administrative separations. You are watching those same types of agents, border patrol agents, basically effectuate family separations in the interior, in this case, a US citizen who is accused of a crime. But that does not negate the questions being raised by lawyers and others about how they are treating not only United States citizens, but little toddlers like the one year old girl that’s at the center of this story. And this is just the beginning of this story.
McLaughlin, once again, slammed the fake news media laying out the facts, stating, “Leave it to @MSNBC to glorify a man who abandoned his own child in a vehicle to go and attack federal law enforcement, wielding a hammer and throwing rocks at law enforcement.”
“Those pesky facts! Right @jacobsoboroff?” she added.
