Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney isn’t backing down, not to GQ, not to the woke mob, and certainly not to the media elites who think patriotism and blonde hair are somehow offensive.
During an interview with GQ’s Katherine Stoeffel, Sweeney, who has previously identified as a registered Republican, refused to take the bait as the reporter repeatedly tried to corner her into apologizing for her now-viral American Eagle “Jeans” ad, which the Left has absurdly labeled “racist” and “eugenic.”
Sydney Sweeney:

Jeans are uncontroversial. Jeans are awesome. I like your jeans. You look great in your jeans. I think I know how you’re going to answer this, but I’m going to ask anyway. I mean, the President tweeted about the jeans ad — or Truth Socialed about the jeans ad — and that just seems to me a very crazy moment for anyone. And I wondered what that was like.Sydney Sweeney: It was surreal.
Katherine Stoeffel: It was surreal. And it would be totally human — I would probably feel thankful that somebody had my back in public. And conveniently, some very powerful people had my back in public. I wondered if you felt that way.
Sydney Sweeney:
I don’t think that… it’s not that that feeling didn’t — I didn’t have that feeling — but I wasn’t thinking of it like that, of any of it. I just put my phone away. I was filming every day. I’m filming Euphoria. So I’m working 16-hour days, and I don’t really bring my phone on set. So I work, and then I go home, and I go to sleep. So I don’t really see a lot of it.Katherine Stoeffel:
You’ve made a really good case for keeping your thoughts and your life separate from that work. But the risk is that there’s a chance that somebody will get some idea about what you think about certain issues and feel like, “I don’t want to see… because of that.” Do you worry about that?Sydney Sweeney:

The criticism of the content — which was basically that, maybe specifically in this political climate, white people shouldn’t joke about genetic superiority — that was the criticism, broadly speaking. Since you are talking about this, I just wanted to give you an opportunity to talk about that specifically.Sydney Sweeney:
I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear.

On July 23, American Eagle released its fall denim campaign featuring Sweeney in a lighthearted pun about “genes” and “jeans.”
In a voiceover, she says, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue.”
It was clever, patriotic, and very American — and that was enough to make the far Left furious.
Some accused the ad of echoing eugenics and white supremacist beauty ideals, citing her blonde hair and blue eyes as part of a subliminal message. A Kean University professor even likened the pun to rhetoric straight out of the American eugenics movement.
Even President Donald Trump couldn’t resist commenting on the controversy, calling Sweeney’s campaign the “HOTTEST ad out there.”
Trump wrote at the time:
“Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the “HOTTEST” ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are “flying off the shelves.” Go get ‘em Sydney! On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER! The CEO just resigned in disgrace, and the company is in absolute turmoil.
Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad. Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company. The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST. Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift.
Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT.
