The defense team for Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk, has requested that cameras be banned from the courtroom during the trial’s proceedings.
It’s amazing that an accused assassin thinks he is in a position to request such a thing, but that is what’s happening.
Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, recently spoke to Jesse Watters and he asked her for her thoughts on this issue. Her answer was excellent.

Erika Kirk, the widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, is calling on Judge Tony Graf to allow news cameras inside the courtroom for assassination suspect Tyler Robinson’s upcoming trial.
“There were cameras all over my husband when he was murdered,” Erika Kirk told Fox News’ Jesse Watters. “There have been cameras all over my friends and family mourning.”
“There have been cameras all over me, analyzing my every move, analyzing my every smile, my every tear. We deserve to have cameras in there,” Erika Kirk continued.
The widow went on to ask, “Why not be transparent?” adding, “There’s nothing to hide. I know there’s not, because I’ve seen what the case is built on.”
“Let everyone see what true evil is,” Erika Kirk declared. “This is something that could impact a generation and generations to come.”
Charlie Kirk’s widow was responding to a question from Watters, in which he asked how she felt about the defense wanting “to ban cameras in the courtroom.”

Erika Kirk is absolutely right about this. From the time of her husband’s murder, she has been living under the microscope of media cameras. Why shouldn’t there be cameras in the courtroom for the trial of her husband’s alleged killer?
If Tyler Robinson did not want this kind of attention, maybe he should have thought twice before doing what he (allegedly) did. He does not deserve to be shielded from the public just because his lawyers think it would be better for him.
If Erika Kirk can handle life in the spotlight after what happened to her, then so can Robinson.
