Rap superstar Nicki Minaj has publicly thanked President Donald Trump for highlighting the ongoing persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
In a post to X on Saturday, Minaj shared Trump’s statement from Truth Social and expressed her gratitude for living in America.
Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God.
No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.
Numerous countries all… pic.twitter.com/2M5sPiviQu

Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror & it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice.
Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously.
God bless every persecuted Christian.
Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.
Minaj’s post included a screenshot of Trump’s full statement, in which he declared Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” due to the existential threat facing Christianity there.
Trump wrote on Friday:
Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter. I am hereby making Nigeria a “COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN” — But that is the least of it. When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done! I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter, and report back to me. The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!
In Nigeria, Christians are enduring widespread persecution, primarily from jihadist groups like Boko Haram, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), and Fulani militants, who have escalated attacks in recent years.
Reports indicate that thousands of Christians have been killed annually, with radical Islamists responsible for mass slaughters, kidnappings, and forced displacements in northern and central regions of the country.
Since 2009, over 52,000 Christians have been murdered, making Nigeria one of the deadliest places for followers of the faith.
Advocacy groups describe the situation as an underreported genocide, with villages raided, churches destroyed, and communities targeted in a campaign of religious violence that has drawn limited international intervention until recently.
This isn’t the first time Minaj has voiced support for Trump.
Just last month, Minaj faced backlash for praising the president while taking aim at Vice President Kamala Harris, crediting Trump for allowing “flattering photos” of her to be posted online without suppression.
“Flattering photos are allowed to be posted of me again. Thanks, POTUS,” Minaj wrote. “Epiphany had politicians thinking she would lead them to a victory. Had live nation thinking she knew her sh*t. lol. How much money did VP Harris have stacked up for her campaign, again? Yikes.”
Minaj has also shared content featuring Trump’s granddaughter dancing to one of her songs, further signaling her support for the president.
In addition to her comments on Trump, Minaj has a history of questioning mainstream narratives, including her skepticism toward COVID-19 vaccines.
Back in 2021, the rapper tweeted about not rushing into vaccination, stating, “They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research.”
She also infamously shared a controversial anecdote, saying, “My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen.”

Around the same time, the wildly popular rapper shared a clip of Tucker Carlson defending her and caused an uproar once again, as liberals demanded she was siding with “racists.”

Minaj refused to back down and apologize for sharing the clip.
When someone tweeted at her saying, “you know he’s a white nationalist, right?” Minaj fired right back.
Right. I can’t speak to, agree with, even look at someone from a particular political party. Ppl aren’t human any more. If you’re black & a Democrat tells u to shove marbles up ur ass, you simply have to. If another party tells u to look out for that bus, stand there & get hit https://t.co/OhjQZCbmBa
