Recently, I had the honor of interviewing Professor Alan Dershowitz—one of America’s most distinguished legal minds and a personal mentor of mine.
For sixteen years, I struggled with undiagnosed ADHD and couldn’t finish a single book.
The first one I ever read, The Case for Israel by Dershowitz, changed my life. It inspired me to write, advocate, and eventually host the very man whose words started my journey.
At 87, Dershowitz remains one of the nation’s sharpest and most courageous voices.
He described himself not merely as an independent but as an “anti-Democrat,” warning that the modern Democrat Party has become dangerous for Jews, for Israel, and for America itself.
Dershowitz’s most significant concern is the normalization of extremist candidates like Zohran Mamdani, the New York City councilman now running for mayor.
He cautioned that if Mamdani wins, it would open the door for openly antisemitic mayors in cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
What alarms him most is not that fringe candidates exist—but that mainstream Democrats now embrace them.
He pointed to Senator Elizabeth Warren as a striking example. Years ago, she privately admitted to Dershowitz that she knew little about the Middle East and sought his advice.
Today, she promotes anti-Israel positions with unwarranted confidence.
“She doesn’t have a mind of her own,” Dershowitz remarked, seeing her reversal as emblematic of a broader Democrat surrender to anti-Israel radicals.
On domestic policy, he condemned Democrat manipulation of crime statistics—reducing felonies to misdemeanors and avoiding prosecutions to fabricate lower crime rates.
“The way to reduce crime is not to prosecute criminals,” he said. “That actually increases crime—it just decreases the reporting of it.”
He doubted that courts would allow the National Guard to be sent into cities like New York without an actual insurrection. Still, he stressed that Democrats are lying about safety while urban decline deepens.
Turning to global affairs, Dershowitz exposed corruption within the International Criminal Court, revealing that the ICC prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately after facing his own misconduct scandal.
“It’s a completely corrupt process,” he said, adding that threats from leaders such as Mark Carney or Mamdani to arrest Netanyahu would violate international law, given his diplomatic immunity.
He praised Trump’s actions against fentanyl trafficking, calling U.S. interdictions “perfectly legal” and vital for saving lives.
On redistricting, he predicted the Supreme Court would limit racial gerrymandering but could never eliminate race from the process.
Above all, Dershowitz issued a cultural warning: Jews who continue supporting anti-Israel Democrats are, in his words, “repeating the mistakes of history.”
He compared today’s political climate—especially on college campuses—to Germany in 1932.
“There are no bigger idiots in the world than self-hating Jews,” he said bluntly, warning that Democrat Socialism threatens both Jewish safety and American liberty.
Despite the grim outlook, Dershowitz concluded on a hopeful note. He commended me and my co-host, Ofer Adar, for defending Israel and truth in the public arena.
“If all young people were like you,” he said, “I’d sleep better at night.”
For me, those words carried special meaning. Alan Dershowitz was the first author I ever read, the mentor who shaped my purpose, and the voice who inspired me to speak out.
As I write my first book, My Generation Is Failing America, his challenge remains clear: resist extremism and fight to preserve the freedoms that make America worth protecting.
