After a two-week trial, Florida jurors reached a verdict in the federal case against Ryan Routh – guilty on all five federal counts, including attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, and other gun charges.
As the verdict was read aloud, Routh, 59, tried to stab himself in the neck with a pen. He tried to commit suicide to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison.

According to Fox News, four US Marshals restrained Routh after he tried to stab himself.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi responded
“Today’s guilty verdict against would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh illustrates the Department of Justice’s commitment to punishing those who engage in political violence,” Pam Bondi said.
“This attempted assassination was not only an attack on our President, but an affront to our very nation itself,” Bondi said.
