President Trump this morning dropped perhaps one of his best quotes of his career as he continues to weigh in on Israel’s attack on Iran last night.
As The Gateway Pundit’s Kristinn Taylor reported, Israel carried out a massive bombing campaign on Iran’s nuclear sites. The Jewish state conducted the preemptive strike, called “Strength of a Lion,” after receiving dire intelligence that its sworn enemy had enough enriched uranium to build several bombs within days.
Iran, of course, has made the complete destruction of Israel its primary mission. Just imagine what would happen if the Islamic Republic ever achieved its nuclear aims.
Trump weighed in on the successful strike by Israel, saying, “Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb. We’re hoping to get back to the negotiating table.” He also vowed that the US would defend itself and Israel if Iran retaliated.
The president also reminded the world that he gave Iran a chance to make a deal and set a 60-day ultimatum. How fitting that on the 61st day, Iran got rocked after failing to listen to Trump.
Trump spoke to CNN’s Dana Bash a few hours ago to elaborate on his remarks.
“We, of course, support Israel, obviously, and supported it like nobody has ever supported it,” Trump told Bash.
“Iran should have listened to me when I said – you know I gave them, I don’t know if you know but I gave them a 60-day warning and today is day 61,” he continued.
Trump then said Iran should come to the table now and cut a deal, especially since many of the hardliners are dead thanks to Israel.
“They should now come to the table to make a deal before it’s too late. It will be too late for them. You know the people I was dealing with are dead, the hardliners,” Trump stated.
Trump then dropped an epic and hilarious line when Bash asked if Iran’s failure to heed his warning was a result of the Israeli attack.
“They didn’t die of the flu; they didn’t die of Covid,” Trump quipped.
LOL!
I just spoke with @realDonaldTrump on the phone. The President told me the US supports Israel and called the strikes on Iran last night “a very successful attack.”
“We of course support Israel, obviously and supported it like nobody has ever supported it,” Trump said during our…
