Pete Hegseth has announced a full investigation into Biden’s failed 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal, which caused the death of 13 U.S. service members and 170 civilians at the Kabul International Airport.

On August 26, 2021, the Biden Administration led a withdrawal from the country, where they allowed hundreds of ISIS militants to surround Kabul airport. Suicide bombings were reported amid the chaos as Afghans attempted to enter the airport and flee the Taliban.

The Biden Administration left the country in the hands of the Taliban, Al-Qaeda, ISIS-K, and the Al-Qanni terrorists.

The Gateway Pundit reported that the White House left behind $85 billion worth of U.S. military equipment and Black Hawk Helicopters for the Taliban.

Additionally, The Gateway Pundit readers recall that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley, and CentCom Commander General Kenneth McKenzie all knew about the Kabul Airport terrorist bombing at the Abbey Gate hours in advance.

The top U.S. Military leaders knew that the Abbey Gate Soldiers were at the greatest risk.

Previously, American heroes confirmed to The Gateway Pundit that U.S. brass knew the suicide bomber was in the area of the Kabul Airport, but military brass would not let them take him out.

Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews, a U.S. Marine Corps sniper who served in Afghanistan during the surrender to the Taliban forces, later testified before Congress that he was denied permission to shoot the suicide bomber in Afghanistan.

Hegseth released a Memo on Tuesday, announcing his review of the catastrophic failure.

“The Department of Defense has an obligation, both to the American people and to the warfighters who sacrificed their youth in Afghanistan, to get to the facts,” the memo states, noting that the incident has been under review for three months, and a “comprehensive review” is necessary. The goal of the review is to “ensure ACCOUNTABILITY to the American people and the warfighters of our great Nation,” the memo concludes.

The full memo reads,

MEMORANDUM FOR SENIOR PENTAGON LEADERSHIP COMMANDERS OF THE COMBATANT COMMANDS DEFENSE AGENCY AND DOD FIELD ACTIVITY DIRECTORS

SUBJECT: Departmental Review of the U.S. Military Withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021

On August 26, 2021, President Biden’s administration led a chaotic withdrawal of U.S. military and embassy officials from Afghanistan that led to the deaths of 13 U.S. Service members and 170 civilians in a suicide bombing at the Kabul International Airport’s Abbey Gate. President Trump and I have formally pledged full transparency for what transpired during our military withdrawal from Afghanistan. The Department of Defense has an obligation, both to the American people and to the warfighters who sacrificed their youth in Afghanistan, to get to the facts. This remains an important step toward regaining faith and trust with the American people and all those who wear the uniform and is prudent based on the number of casualties and equipment lost during the execution of this withdrawal operation.

Over the last three months, the Department has been engaged in a review of this catastrophie event in our military’s history. I have concluded that we need to conduct a comprehensive review to ensure that accountability for this event is met and that the complete picture is provided to the American people. To meet this imperative, I am directing the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs (ATSD-PA) and Senior Advisor, Sean Parnell to convene a Special Review Panel (SP) for the Department who will thoroughly examine previous investigations, to include but not limited to, findings of fact, sources, witnesses, and analyze the decision making that led to one of America’s darkest and deadliest international moments. This team will ensure ACCOUNTABILITY to the American people and the warfighters of our great Nation.
