Russian President Vladimir Putin is reportedly ready for a truce with Ukraine after President Trump threatened to sanction Russia.
President Trump on Friday morning threatened Russia with “large scale” banking sanctions and tariffs until Vladimir Putin reached a ceasefire and final settlement on peace with Ukraine.
“Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED. To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!” Trump said on Truth Social on Friday.
Vladimir Putin is willing to open the conversation toward a final peace settlement with Ukraine, according to Bloomberg.

Russia is willing to discuss a temporary truce in Ukraine provided there is progress toward a final peace settlement, according to people familiar with the matter in Moscow.
In the first signal of a positive response from President Vladimir Putin to US counterpart Donald Trump’s call for a ceasefire, the offer was conveyed at last month’s talks in Saudi Arabia between top Russian and American officials, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing internal policy.
President Trump has absolutely had it with the never ending war between Russia and Ukraine (thanks to Joe Biden).
Earlier this week, President Trump paused all military aid to Ukraine after Zelensky suggested the war with Russia would last a long time.
The pause will halt all military aid that is currently in transit to Ukraine.
On Monday Trump responded to Zelensky’s claim the end of war with Russia is ‘very, very far away.’
“This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer! It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?” Trump said on Truth Social.
Later Monday it was reported that a completely fed up Trump has paused all military aid – including weapons in transit – to Ukraine.
