It might be time for the “Hawk Tuah to “talk tuah” a lawyer.
Hailey Welch, who became an overnight sensation for a social media clip in which she described how she liked to spit on men’s genitalia before engaging in oral sex, is now accused of running a multi-million dollar crypto scam in which hapless investors have lost millions in savings.
The New York Post reports:
Welch, 22, skyrocketed to overnight fame earlier this year after an off-color comment that she made during an X-rated interview in Nashville went viral on social media. She has capitalized on her viral moment by launching a merchandise line and a podcast.
The “HAWK” crypto “memecoin” hit a $490 million market cap shortly after its launch late Wednesday, Cointelegraph reported, citing data from DexScreener.
Within three hours, the coin had plunged 91% and carried a valuation of just $41.7 million. Data from Blockchain analysis site Bubblemaps showed that a small number of crypto wallets controlled the vast majority of the available supply of “HAWK.”
That fueled criticism on social media about so-called “snipers” – or investors that buy up vast quantities of new meme tokens at launch.
After the launch, Welch said on X that her team had “tried to stop snipers as best we could through high fees in the start of launch” and said her insiders on the crypto project hadn’t “sold one token” of HAWK.

In a recent interview with Fortune magazine, Welch said the memecoin was “not just a cash grab.” She admitted that she used to think crypto was “just a scam” and an “easy way for you to lose money” but has since been convinced of its value.
The alleged scam is currently dominating social media, with some people complaining about huge losses and people even organizing themselves to take legal action.

I’m so fucked and I don’t know what to do.
When the Hawk Tuah girl announced that she’d release a coin, I genuinely thought it would be my shot at making millions.
I convinced my parents to take out a 2nd mortgage on the house, liquidated all my assets, took out a 6 figure loan… https://t.co/SqngdQePsi pic.twitter.com/i74d0Laq2X

What a mess.
So, what is the moral of this story? Well, it is probably best not to get it from somebody who got famous for describing how she likes to pleasure the men she has sex with.
